Fine Pair of George I Walnut Chairs
A very fine pair of George I period side chairs in black walnut.
English, c. 1720.
Each chair having a gently curved back with a vase splat and shaped and scroll-carved crest rail, raised on graceful cabriole front legs with carved C-scrolls to the knees and slightly pointed pad feet, joined by turned stretchers to nicely raked back legs. Beautiful rich warm colour and graining, superb patination.
