Neil Godfrey (British, b. 1937) An Limited Edition Sculpture of a Nude Male, 1986
Neil Godfrey was born in Cornwall in 1937. He worked in various forms of community work until 1978 when he began work as a professional sculptor. Primarily self-taught, his work has sold worldwide, in particular Europe and the USA. His work is predominantly figurative, speaking of the human condition and beauty of the human form. Modeled originally in clay, the sculptures are cast in resin bronze, or bronze.
Offered here is one of the artist’s most beautiful and well-proportioned sculptures, featuring a handsome nude young male proudly standing in all his beauty. The sculpture is extremely well executed with a lot of delightful fine details, which build a very distinctive character.
