A good pair of George III Sheraton period generously proportioned armchairs in mahogany, England, c. 1790
The square upright-splat backs with canopied crest rails, above the close-nailed Burgundy leather upholstered stuff-over seats, raised on square tapering and reeded front legs with spade feet, and square sabre back legs.
Condition: the timber still retains the original surface with a lot of patina and minor signs of historic repairs; seat-rails original, one with a period paper label reading: "...IDGE & Co Depository Newcastle-Upon-Tyne"
