Pair of Irish Regency Hall Chairs

An interesting pair of mahogany 'Klismos' hall chairs of the Regency period,
Ireland, circa 1820.

Why we like them
Interesting design, with curved 'sabre' legs, inspired by the ancient Greek Klismos chairs, as seen on Grand Tour vessels.

A set of four identical chairs from 25 Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin, was sold Christie's, London, 6 April 2000, Lot 212.

Great quality, mellow colour, wonderfully stylish hall chairs, made of fine solid mahogany, superbly decorative. A very chic addition to a classic, eclectic or modern interior.
